Kharkiv Series (2009-2014)
All my trips around Kharkiv end in the same way - in Chebotarskaia Street, Central Market, South Station, Moskaliovka or at the Coking Plant. In these places the imprint of time is felt in a particularly strong way – in dilapidated buildings and streets, crippled trees and homeless dogs. I print the photos in a bathroom on the Soviet photographic paper. The prints also look frayed, aesthetically nostalgic, like scraps of memory. The photos come easily and not forced and sometimes I wonder what will disappear faster – the Soviet photographic paper or "the Soviet material". However, if the material vanishes little by little, the "Soviet ideological" is still etched in the minds of many.
